1. The Triunity of God

We believe in one God, eternally revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We do not believe in three gods, but in one God who is revealed in three distinct Persons.

The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God.

Each is fully divine, yet God is one.

Matthew 28:19 (KJV) - “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

2 Corinthians 13:14 (KJV) - “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.”

At the baptism of Jesus we also see the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit revealed together:

Matthew 3:16–17 (KJV) - 16 “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, the Word made flesh, fully God and fully man.

John 1:1, 14 (KJV) - 1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” 14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us...”

We believe the Holy Spirit is not merely a force, influence, or power, but the Spirit of God who teaches, leads, comforts, empowers, distributes spiritual gifts, and works within believers to transform us into the image of Christ.

Our Christian life is therefore lived in relationship with the Father, through the Son, by the Holy Spirit.

2. Salvation

We believe that salvation is God's free gift, made available through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

No one can earn salvation through good works, religious traditions, or personal effort. Salvation is received by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Bible teaches that we respond to God's invitation through repentance, believing in Jesus Christ, confessing Him as Lord, and continuing to follow Him as His disciples.

John 3:16 (KJV) - “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV) - “For by grace you have been saved through faith... it is the gift of God, not of works.”

Romans 10:9–10 (KJV) - “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Acts 3:19 (KJV) - “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.”

Romans 10:13 (KJV) - “Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Psalm 107:2 (KJV) - “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.”

We believe salvation begins with God's grace and is received through repentance, faith, confession of Jesus Christ as Lord, and a life that continues to follow Him.

3. Assurance of Salvation

We believe that believers can have assurance of salvation because our confidence rests in the promises and faithfulness of God—not merely in our feelings.

1 John 5:11–13 (KJV) - “...that you may know that you have eternal life.”

John 10:27–29 (KJV) - “My sheep hear My voice... and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.”

Romans 8:1 (KJV) - “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 1:6 (KJV) - “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”

At the same time, Scripture teaches that the Christian life is a continual walk with Christ.

We are called to abide in Him, seek first His Kingdom, walk in the Spirit, renew our minds, grow into maturity, and continue working out our salvation as God works within us.

John 15:4–5 (KJV) - “Abide in Me...”

Philippians 2:12–13 (KJV) - “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you...”

Hebrews 4:11 (KJV) - “Let us therefore strive to enter that rest.”

Matthew 6:33 (KJV) - “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness...”

Hebrews 3:14 (KJV) - “We have become partakers of Christ if we hold firmly to our confidence to the very end.”

Our confidence is in Christ alone, while we also recognize that believers are called to abide in Him, grow into maturity, renew their minds, walk in the Spirit, and continue becoming more like Christ.

4. Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism for believers as commanded by Jesus Christ.

Water baptism does not replace salvation by grace through faith. Rather, it is an act of faith, obedience, identification, and public confession following belief in Jesus Christ.

Jesus commanded His disciples:

Matthew 28:19 (KJV) - “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

On the Day of Pentecost Peter declared:

Acts 2:38 (KJV) - “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins...”

Water baptism identifies the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:3–4 (KJV) - 3 “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

We therefore understand baptism as much more than a religious ceremony.

It is a declaration that the old life is being left behind and that we now belong to Jesus Christ and are called to walk in newness of life.

5. The Baptism of the Holy Ghost and Fire

We believe that the Holy Spirit is given to believers and that Scripture also speaks of believers being baptized with the Holy Ghost and with fire.

John the Baptist declared concerning Jesus:

Matthew 3:11 (KJV) - “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I... he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.”

Jesus also told His disciples to wait for the promise of the Father:

Acts 1:4–5 (KJV) - 4 “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father... 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.”

Jesus connected this directly with supernatural power for witness:

Acts 1:8 (KJV) - “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me...”

This promise was visibly fulfilled at Pentecost:

Acts 2:1–4 (KJV) - 1 “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind... 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire... 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

We believe the baptism and filling of the Holy Spirit empowers believers for witness, ministry, prayer, spiritual gifts, boldness, service, and the work of the Kingdom of God.

We also recognize the biblical imagery of fire as connected with the presence, holiness, purification, and consuming work of God.

Our desire is therefore not merely to speak about the Holy Spirit, but to live as people continually surrendered to, filled with, led by, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

6. Speaking in Tongues & the Gifts of the Holy Spirit

As part of a Pentecostal church, we believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still active today.

The International Fellowship embraces the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit and believes that He continues to distribute spiritual gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ.

We believe Scripture reveals different expressions and purposes of speaking in tongues.

Personal Prayer Language

When believers pray in tongues, they speak to God and are spiritually edified.

1 Corinthians 14:2 (KJV) - “He who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God...”

1 Corinthians 14:4 (KJV) - “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself.”

We believe this is part of a believer's personal communion with God and spiritual edification.

Public Tongues with Interpretation

Scripture also describes a public message in tongues given to the congregation. In this setting, it should be accompanied by interpretation so that the whole church can be edified.

1 Corinthians 12:10 (KJV) - “...different kinds of tongues... interpretation of tongues.”

1 Corinthians 14:27–28 (KJV) - “If anyone speaks in a tongue... let one interpret...”

We understand this instruction specifically in relation to a public message intended for the congregation.

Praying Together in the Spirit

There are also times during our gatherings when believers pray together in the Spirit, each personally worshipping and praying to God.

Acts 2:1–4 (KJV) - “They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues...”

Ephesians 6:18 (KJV) - “Praying always with all prayer... in the Spirit.”

Jude 20 (KJV) - “Building yourselves up... praying in the Holy Spirit.”

We seek the Lord together while maintaining the biblical principle:

1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV) - “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

We believe that the Holy Spirit continues to manifest His gifts, including the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, the working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues, for the edification of the Church and the glory of Jesus Christ.

One of the Scriptures that continually shapes our fellowship is:

Mark 11:22–24 (KJV) - 22 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Have Faith in God — The Faith of God

The King James Version translates Jesus' words in Mark 11:22 as: “Have faith in God.”

The Greek expression behind these words is ἔχετε πίστιν θεοῦ (echete pistin theou).

The expression contains the words pistin theou—literally, “faith of God.” English translations normally express the meaning idiomatically as “Have faith in God.”

For us, these ideas belong together rather than competing with one another.

We are called to place our faith in God, while recognizing that genuine biblical faith cannot be separated from God Himself. He is its source, its object, and its foundation.

We desire to grow beyond merely having human confidence about God and learn to live from what God has spoken—to hear His Word, believe His Word, come into agreement with His Word, and allow His Word to shape how we think, speak, pray, and live.

Faith Comes by Hearing

Scripture tells us where faith comes from:

Romans 10:17 (KJV) - “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Faith is not something we manufacture through human effort.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

If we desire to grow in the faith of God, we must continually hear what God has spoken. His Word becomes the foundation upon which faith can stand.

We hear His Word. We receive His Word. We believe His Word. We speak in agreement with His Word. And we learn to live according to His Word.

This is why the Word of God has such a central place in our fellowship. We cannot expect to mature in faith while remaining disconnected from the Word from which faith comes.

Faith Believes and Speaks

Jesus does not stop at saying, “Have faith in God.” He immediately teaches what faith looks like when it begins to operate.

Faith speaks: “Whosoever shall say unto this mountain...”

Faith believes in the heart: “...and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe...”

Faith believes that what God has spoken is greater than what circumstances appear to say.

And in prayer, faith believes before the manifestation is seen: “...when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Biblical faith is therefore more than positive thinking, human determination, or trying to convince ourselves that something will happen.

It is learning to know God, hear His Word, trust what He has spoken, believe Him in the heart, speak in agreement with His Word, and live from that conviction even before the answer is visible.

Faith Must Become Active

Scripture also teaches us that faith is not intended to remain merely something that we say we possess.

James 2:17 (KJV) - “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

And again:

James 2:26 (KJV) - “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

Living faith produces a response.

What we truly believe will eventually affect how we speak, how we act, how we obey, how we pray, how we treat others, and how we live.

Faith is not simply something to possess.

Faith must become active in our lives.

Add to Your Faith

Faith is foundational, but Scripture does not tell us to stop with faith.

As believers grow toward spiritual maturity, Peter gives a remarkable instruction in 2 Peter 1:5–8 (KJV):

5 “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This is an important part of how we understand spiritual maturity.

We are told to add to our faith:

Faith → Virtue → Knowledge → Temperance → Patience → Godliness → Brotherly Kindness → Charity

Faith is not the end of our development. It is part of the foundation upon which a mature life in Christ is built.

We desire faith that grows.

We desire faith that produces fruit.

We desire faith that develops character.

We desire faith that works through love.

And we desire believers who continue growing until the character, nature, wisdom, love, and life of Christ become increasingly visible through them.

Faith and Spiritual Maturity

This brings us back to the central vision of our fellowship in Ephesians 4.

Our destination is:

Ephesians 4:13 (KJV) - “...the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.”

We are not simply trying to become people who can say that we have faith.

We are seeking to mature in faith.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Faith believes God. Faith speaks. Faith acts. Faith must produce works. And as we mature, Scripture commands us to add to our faith the qualities that produce a fruitful and Christlike life.

This is part of our journey toward the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God.

Our desire is not merely to know about God.

We desire to know Him, hear His Word, trust His Word, believe His Word, speak in agreement with His Word, walk by His Spirit, put our faith into action, add to our faith, grow into maturity, reveal His character, and become conformed to the image of His Son.

We have faith in God, and we desire to grow in a faith that comes from God’s Word, becomes active in our lives, produces fruit, and brings us increasingly into the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

Our fellowship welcomes believers from many church backgrounds, cultures, and traditions. We recognize that we may not all arrive with the same understanding of every doctrine, but we believe Scripture gives us a greater goal: to grow together into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God.

Our unity is therefore not simply an agreement to tolerate different interpretations. It is a shared journey toward spiritual maturity in Christ.

As we study the Word of God together and allow the Holy Spirit to teach, correct, equip, and transform us, we desire to grow beyond spiritual immaturity and become increasingly established in the truth.

As Ephesians 4:13–15 (KJV) declares:

Ephesians 4:13–15 (KJV) - 13 “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine... 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.”

This is the unity we pursue.

When different understandings arise, our purpose is not to defend denominations or argue traditions. We return together to Scripture, examine the Word in its context, listen to one another, and remain teachable before God.

We believe that truth and love belong together. We speak the truth in love so that we may grow up into Christ in all things.

The goal is not denominational uniformity. The goal is maturity in Christ—a Body of believers increasingly united in faith, growing in the knowledge of the Son of God, grounded in truth, functioning together in love, and being transformed into the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

Our unity is not merely where we begin. The unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God is where we are going together.

We believe the Word of God is our highest authority and that the Holy Spirit continues to illuminate the Scriptures and transform believers into the image of Christ.

We believe the Holy Spirit is actively working in His Church today.

We believe in the presence of God, the power of God, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the manifestation of His power according to Scripture.

At the same time, everything must be rooted and grounded in love.

Every ministry, every spiritual gift, every doctrine, and every expression of faith must operate from the foundation of the love of God.

Doctrine is important because truth matters. But our goal is not simply to know the truth—it is to be transformed by the truth into the image of Jesus Christ.

Our mission is to equip believers through the Word of God and the Holy Spirit until they come to the unity of the faith, the knowledge of the Son of God, and the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

Our goal is not to make people followers of a particular denomination.

Our goal is to help people become mature disciples of Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Word of God and the Holy Spirit work together to transform us into the image of Christ.

This transformation is a lifelong journey as we learn to deny ourselves, walk by the Spirit, renew our minds, and allow Christ to be formed in us.

Everything we teach ultimately points toward this purpose:

The unity of the faith. The knowledge of the Son of God. Spiritual maturity. The measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

Our English Fellowship exists for one primary purpose: to help believers grow into spiritual maturity and become more like Jesus Christ.

The Scripture that best describes our vision and the foundation upon which we stand is Ephesians 4:11–16 (KJV):

Ephesians 4:11–16 (KJV) - 11 “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”

This passage is the foundation of our ministry.

We believe that Christ continues to give apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to His Church for the perfecting and equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry, and for the building up of the Body of Christ.

The destination is clear: the unity of the faith, the knowledge of the Son of God, spiritual maturity, and the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

We are being equipped so that we are no longer spiritual children, tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, but are able to grow up into Christ in all things.

And every part of the Body has something to supply.

For this reason, the International Fellowship is more than a weekly gathering. It is a place of discipleship, training, equipping, spiritual growth, preparation for ministry, and learning how to function as part of the Body of Christ.

Our desire is that every person grows, every gift develops, every part learns to supply what God has placed within them, and together the Body is built up in love.

We believe that God calls and equips both men and women for ministry according to His gifts and calling.

We rejoice whenever God raises up faithful servants who preach the Gospel, disciple believers, exercise the gifts He has given them, and build up the Body of Christ.

Our focus is on recognizing, developing, and equipping what God has placed within His people so that they can serve according to His calling.

The International Fellowship is a place to belong, learn, grow, serve, be equipped, and discover how God can use what He has placed within you.

We do not expect everyone who walks through the door to be at the same place spiritually.

We are growing together.

We study God's Word together. We pray together. We worship together. We learn to operate in the gifts God has given us. We encourage one another. We equip one another for ministry.

And through it all, our destination remains the same:

Ephesians 4:13 (KJV) - “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.”
