About our Church. What do we believe?
The Church is planned by God himself. It is a fellowship of believers built on the foundation of the teaching of the Bible and the apostles, and its origin is in heaven.
We want to be a Church that makes the invisible reality of God visible for us. We trust that the Living God is with us and that He guides us to find the right ways to make this happen in every generation.
One can become a member of the Church through personal faith and baptism. Jesus himself commanded His followers to make disciples of all the nations, by baptizing and teaching them. This is the way the Church grows and new Christians can make progress in their faith.
The first local churches are found in the Acts and there we also find the pattern for Church leadership. According to this teaching there should be elders who are put in charge of the local churches. The elders should walk as an example for others and enjoy respect and trust of the outsiders. The Bible is God’s eternal word that has been rendered into human language in a given time in history. The 66 books (Old Testament 39 and New Testament 27) have been written during 1500 years by about 40 people who were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. This living Word of God, the Bible, is the foundation of our faith. Without its message we would not know God. God’s plan is that everyone who is born into His family grows into spiritual maturity. Our spiritual man is nourished by the Word that we need in order to grow. For this we need to understand what the Bible teaches. There is the Holy Spirit to guide and help each one of us personally. That's why we are focused on sound and systematic teaching within the church to further the Christian growth.
Prayer
God works in our here and now and we can communicate with Him. We can speak to Him and He will answer. Prayer is our conversation with God. God desires our coming to Him in prayer, because He loves us and He expects us to share our thoughts with Him. He wants to help us, speak to us and guide us. In Church we pray for common prayer subjects as well as praise and worship together. Prayer requests can be sent in written or they can be presented when we come together in the service. As human beings we sometimes desire personal prayer for us. We’d like to give a chance to be prayed for in all our gatherings. Prayer is a mighty weapon! It changes us and it changes circumstances. It gives us the awareness that we are not alone, but there is a powerful God who hears and knows everything!
Service / Hospitality
When we are born into the family of God, we become members in a body or as building blocks in a temple, as the Bible tells us. Every living member has its place and purpose in the body. Jesus Christ is the head of the Church body, but without members the head is not able to function. God is in action in this time and place even in Uusikaupunki! He uses us to do that, He uses each and every one who is born again child of God, he uses our hands, feet and words!
Fellowship
God created Man to be in daily relationship with Him. Jesus mended the broken fellowship that once was perfect in the Garden of Eden and with His help the relationship works today. As believers in Jesus we also have a special fellowship with other Christians through the Holy Spirit. Despite our differences we are the children of one Father. In Church fellowship we can support each other, share and rejoice together.
